Term 2, 2025 Newsletter

Updated: Aug 18

Dear Staff, Parents, and Committee Members,

As Term 2 draws to a close, it’s heartening to reflect on what has been a joyful and productive few months at Doncaster Kindergarten. Our classroom and playground have been full of laughter, creativity, and learning, with the children thriving in an environment that nurtures their curiosity and sense of fun. It’s been wonderful to see them so engaged – exploring new activities, forming friendships, and truly enjoying their time at kinder.

Behind the scenes, the Committee has also been hard at work on a number of important projects to enhance our facilities and support our families. One major focus has been the design planning for upgrades to our playground, made possible through grant funding. The appointed contractor has already met with the Council Arborist to ensure that the upgrades are carried out safely, with great care taken to protect our beautiful native trees. We’re excited to see this project come to life, with works expected to begin during Term Three – something we’re sure the children will be thrilled about!

Looking ahead, Term Three will also bring the rollout of a new electronic sign in/sign out system for families and emergency contacts. While we transition to this updated process, we’ll continue using our current manual system to ensure a smooth and confident changeover. You can expect to hear more about this following the upcoming two-week holiday break.

Finally, in order to offer 15 hours of Three-Year-Old Kinder to our families from 2026, we’ve made some important structural changes. These new session times are now available on our website, and we encourage families to take a look to see how these changes may benefit them in the coming years.

Thank you to our educators, families, and committee members for your continued support and contributions to our kindergarten community.

Wishing you all a safe and restful holiday break – we look forward to an exciting Term Three!

If you have any questions or are interested in joining the Committee, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Warm regards,

Irsa Kanwal

President, Doncaster Kindergarten Committee
