Join Our Committee

Updated: Aug 4, 2021

No matter what skill set you possess, Doncaster Kindergarten welcomes and values your contribution. Whether it's assisting with fundraising or organising educational supplies, many hands make light work!

We are always on the look-out for parents who are able to nominate themselves for volunteer positions on the Kindergarten Management Committee. As part of the Management Committee a parent has direct involvement as a Committee Member. Parents can also be indirectly involved in the kindergarten administration by assisting Committee Members in various ways throughout the year.

"Being a part of the Committee has been a truly rewarding experience, not only am I able to make a direct contribution to my child's kindergarten experience, but as a busy mum it has given me the opportunity to develop new skills and a great outlet to meet some wonderful like-minded people." Kath, Committee Member

"Local parents started the kindergarten almost 50 years ago and it continues to be run by parents today. We hope to continue with this legacy for many years to come," said Andrea, President of Doncaster Kindergarten (2019).

The Committee manages the kindergarten, reviews fee structures, employs the staff and looks after all things operational. The result is a very close relationship between parents and staff, and amongst the parents.

The Committee is crucial to the kindergarten. Each year since 1968, a group of parents have stepped forward to serve on the Committee and the kindergarten has prospered. Committee members come from all walks of life and there are many roles which allow parents to use their particular skills.

Committee meetings are held on the third Wednesday of every month or by other agreement.
